Task for this WebQuest Activity

We live in Illinois, well out of range of any volcanoes. However, millions of people in the United States and around the world live well within the range of a volcanic eruption. This is a risk that people knowingly take, and it is seen as a mystery by many. Over the course of this WebQuest on volcanoes, it will be your job to identify the threats posed by volcanoes and, using the knowledge and resources that you will have, make a recommendation for where and how to build a safe city near the base of a volcano that you will be assigned to research. Each group will research a different volcano and work together to develop a plan of action for the city engineers. Keep in mind: your proposals, along with your notes, will be collected after your presentation. Also, keep track of the sources you use so that you can properly cite them in your proposal.
